I was wondering what would be the maximum size tire I could fit on a stock 2500? I have a good deal on a use set of 20" hellcats with 325/60/20r nitto grapplers on them. How are these tires I'm mainly worried about longevity and snow traction. Any info or opinions would be great.

 

they will probably rub a little... but the terra grapplers are actually decent in the snow. i had a set on my powerstroke, and even with 1/2 tread they did excellent in the snow... they suck in mud though...

i recommend a leveling kit though.. you can get them on ebay for like $75-100

 

terra grapplers wear out FAST.

I usually get about 40k out of a set of tires. The TG's lasted 20k.

I've had 3 sets:
1. 295 70 17 "D" - Lasted about 35K
2. 285 70 17 "D" - Lasted about 35K
3. 285 70 17 "E" - Lasted about 32K - I gave them one last chance hoping the E rating would last longer. The wore evenly, and rode good, but they wore out fast.

I had a set of 325/70/17 nitto tg's and i got about 20k from them and i had about 15% left until i ran over a nail on the interstate. This was about as big as you could go with just a leveling kit in my opinion. my tires would rub on about 3/4 of a full turn. i now have 35x12.50 toyo mud terrains with no rubbing. i dont have any experience with snow but in sand the tires are amazing, in mud there not good. Overall i was happy with the tire, it rode nice and quiet

 

fwiw, I had some cepek fun country II's, and they lasted 50k. I sold them to a guy who ran them for another year after that.
