I just installed the Mag Hytec diff covers in the front, rear, and tranny of my 2500 ram. The guy said there may be clearance issues with the front diff cover from what he pointed out to me. Looks awful close to the steering. My truck is not lifted...just stock in that regard.

Any suggestions?

 

Supposedly they (Maghytec) made the new covers with provisions for the steering gear.

 

You should not have clearance issues with the new Mag Hytecs on the front. Over a year ago they made a change in the design to ensure that the front one would not make contact. If you have the serial number off the mag-hytec you can call them to ensure you have one of the newer designs. I think it looks close, but should not contact.... Now with a lift, all bets are off (and my mag-hytec does make slight contact...).

 

I've had no issues with clearance with mine, but I'm unsure if that will be true when I upgrade the steering to the '08 design. Something to keep in mind I guess for what its worth.....

 

I have a 2" leveling kit ,and everything clears just fine.

 

I'm just hearing a clunk when I go over bumps...I assumed it would be the cover since the guy brought it to my attention. But when I looked at it today it seems there is about 2" clearance...maybe something in my suspension is gone?
