There really are no benefits or flaws. You'll never see a bit of difference in your stock or even mildly mod'ed truck. At least I never saw a difference, 'cept maybe the occasional rough idleing which I combat with 2-stroke oil every 3rd. tank fill.
He has an 07 5.9 it is legal to run LSD in his truck. The main difference is fuel mileage 1 MPG and how much quieter it runs. I would run LSD in a heartbeat if I could find it to run. Only ULSD in my area.
I though federal law stated all stations had to change over by a certain date?

There is still some LSD around. I can get it at a truck stop on I-80 in IA, but generally all I see is ULSD. When I have a choice, I pump the LSD. I usually get slightly better mileage and a smoother running motor when running LSD.

I thought maybe they forgot to change the sticker too but the sticker has a current date on it.Cant find lsd anywhere in N.Y. I wasnt sure if lsd had better or worse lubricity for the pump.
LSD is still being produced. The requirement for 100% compliance is not until 2010 (Except in CA).

ive never heard of running 2 stroke oil in diesel the only thing that i have heard of is putting tranny fluid in every third tank, is this about the same thing?? never did it, does it help any??
I hate to burst the bubble, but I don't think consumers can buy LSD...
The reason a pump will say LSD, instead of ULSD, is because for a company to put the ULSD sticker on their pumps, their entire fuel tank system, however many thousands of gallons it holds, has to have 'x' number of fillings before it can be constituted as USLD....so while the fuel is 99.999% ULSD, it's still classified as LSD, because it's not a true 100%.
as for thinking the truck runs better, or gets better mpg...my guess is its a conicidence.
