Long time Lurker, first time poster.

First let me say that I find it amazing the amount of expertise and enthusiasm I see in the posts when I'm lurking about. This site is an awesome resource for a guy who knows how to start the enging and make the truck stop and go and thats about it! Now to my question... I have about $7,000.00 to spend upgrading my truck, it is bone stock, and I am looking for a good, honest mechanic in the Las Vegas area. I tow a 37' fiver and would like to "bullet proof" my trannie/TC as well as get a little more HP and torque. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you not looking to go all out since you're going to be doing a lot of towing, I would suggest contacting Dave Georend for your tranny, you will be ok with a TC/VB and billet input, that should be around 3500 or so, then I would do either a Smarty or BDDL, guages, and an AFE Stage II intake filter, if there is any left over get a FASS or GDP with 2Micron filter and an oil bypass...
You'll have plenty for towing and increase MPG.
I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice.... I received plenty in my quest for the 600+hp mark.

Tranny is a must, Gorend is excellent, NADP in Edmonton also, there are several tranny builders, all with thier own followers. I built my truck with the sole purpose of towing in mind, I have a 37' Jayco 5er that I pull, it is 13k dry.

Thanks for the good info guys! Sounds like after the tranny, TC/VB I will have a little left over for the other fun stuff as well. Good deal. Any leads or suggestions on finding a good mechanic in the Las Vegas area or does Georend have a shop in town?

Don't know a good installer in Vegas, but there are several good removal techs that hang out behind Belagio after midnight.
