One thing to consider is hookup. Just pull up a manual on any of the units your thinking of and compare the amount of connection points ie. butt connectors, taps, splices, piggy backing OEM connectors ext. The more connection the greater a chance for future problems. Look at the quality of connectors supplied. Most manual show parts supplied. Most are non water tight and are fairly cheap.
So for me Stock no issues. Quad one out of the 2 piggy back connectors and went thru 2 RP sensor. Quad did fix though. Banks I believe 8 points of connections. Just something to think of.

Your right, there are at least 6 plugs to deal with, not to mention splices and power connections. Lot to deal with.

Since our name was brought up I want to show you the valid options that are a direct competitor to the Banks system since that is what he is looking for.

http://www.quadzillapower.com/produc...ne-Dodge-06-07

The second valid option is also the Smarty as mentioned above combined with one of these:
http://www.quadzillapower.com/produc...ex.cfm/p/Scout

That gauge is light years ahead of the Commander although it looks the same.

The last option is to wait a little long and grab an iPhone or iTouch. The first system I listed will be available with the iPod/iTouch as a controller instead of the purpose built display you see on our website.

This gives you all the fancy features of the apple product plus all the function of our product!

The number and quality of the connections is a good point. I emailed Smarty about the new product they have planned but have not heard back from them yet. Jordan, soon as hear back from them I will ask for a reply to your questions, hope we hear from them. Anyone have experiance with the Adrenaline/Pulse (link above)? It has some nice features. May never use it to its full protenal since I'm looking for safe power right now but it would keep my options open.

Quad sorry I didn't add this, I did really like your products and would own again. And you guys did eveyrthing to make it right. Actually I wish I didn't get rid of my X2 STD because I'd have a great stack right now.
Oh I found my friend Banks manual they use 18 gauge wire with scotch t-taps and no weather seals and those(2) go to the tranny and no wire loom.

Umm, I've only heard a few that have the Quad Adrenaline, it's still a little new out there, working out some things on it. I have a small quad box on my truck along with the injectors and it pulls like nothing youve ever seen. 37k# total loads and passing F-550s hauling lighter loads! I can go uphill and have to push the brake cause everyone else is too slow and I am gaining speed even at 70mph! Turbo helps a ton too!

I'm running a Bully Dog Triple Dog with an Outlook monitor. You can pick those up fairly cheap these days on ebay. The Outlook has defuel settings on it. IMO it adds enough power to the average joe without tearing the truck up. I'm sure on my Crazy Larry setting I could drop the trans out the bottom in short order. I don't run that though. Consider the combo. I'm above 40 and can read the Outlook, but YMMV...

Boy have I gone to school the last couple of weeks. The latest Diesel performance evolution reminds me of the muscle car era. Looking back now that was a once in a life time blast. I know it’s not a perfect world right now, but hang on to this diesel era and enjoy the ride boys. Many fond memories to follow. I haven’t made a decision about the programmer yet but I would like to see the new product Smarty hinted about. So far if I could create the best one for my purpose, it would be a Smarty runnin behind an IQ. I tried to do some background work on MADS creator of Smarty and could not find much. Does anyone know were their products are made? Where is MADS located? There has been one consistency in my research, Smarty has a very loyal following. I don’t own one as ya’ll know (yes I’m southern) but its popularity can only be explained by how well it works with no hassles. Hope Smarty is close to next generation release. Thanks for the help guys. I did two posts on Cummins diesel forum and used the B word and never got one response, but I did get one PM from one of the good guys. Guess I better real it in for now, got a little long worded.

After a little more thought, I think I may keep it simple for now and get the smarty jr. This is alot of bang for you buck. Smarty claims it is safe to use without gauges even on the highest setting. Do you guys agree with this statement, would you run it on your truck and not worry about the EGT? They also said it leaves no footprint so I would not have any problems should I need warrenty work done, currently have 36000mi. Has anyone confirmed it leaves no footprint?

Got a buddy running Edge juice w/ attitude on a 2nd gen truck and he really likes it, but it won't work on my truck. Thanks for the heads-up on the footprint thing. I thought it might be to good to be true but I wanted to believe it because it helped make my decision easier.

Well I'm not sure what the hp setting is on the smarty jr, but now I have the DDP 50s, and put on a dyno and got 366, that's a good 75hp over stock, plus I put on a quad 60hp chip. I'm not worried about it cause I put on a wayyy good turbo to keep the egts in check, but the next mods are def little fuel support, and gauges. I think you can look at edge for a monitor, I think its called an evolution, its got all kinds of stuff.
