will the 05-06 jeep liberty fuel canister fit in a 04.5 fuel tank?
my truck had the intank replacement done at the dealer but now i wanna go aftermarket. i herd they work in the 05's and up but i wasnt sure about the 04.5s. are the tanks the same?

 

If the canister has the metal ring holding it in your current tank it will work. If it has the plastic nut holding the module in I don't think it will work. If you have the plastic nut type you can buy the old style w/o lift pump from glacier for a little more than the liberty canister.

 

the reason i did this is a long story-so i won't get into it. i installed a 2nd gen fuel filter canister on my 04.5- i had to fab a bracket to make it work-but it looks like it came from the factory like this- plus a 2nd gen fuel canister was only 85.00 from cummins.
