nice wheels- i had those mickey thompsons on a 2nd gen, and they held up as good as they looked.

 

Well I was going to order some rockstars for my 4 door wrangler unlimited next month. Is this more of an issue with the 17s for duallys? Is it the rims that are that bad, or are you just having trouble with guys installing and balancing them? Let me know before I spend a chunk of change cause I was set on buying them. Ryan.

 

I haven't had any issues with mine. They have been on for almost a year now. No problems with the mounting or balancing at all. As a matter of fact, my truck rides smoother now that it ever has. I know a lot of that has to do with the suspension work but the KMC's have not caused me any grief. I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing another set. In my opinion, these issues apply more to the 17" dually series and the guys installing them -- not the entire KMC line-up.

 

The wheels themselves are great-never had a problem with 'em, and quite a few people on here will back me up on that. Its just the mounting issue with the dually 17" rims-the front rim doesn't have a flat fascia around the rim edge, so most of the tire companies don't want to mount them because their machine will tear them up, and/or they don't want to hand mount anything. Most other KMCs don't have this issue, so I wouldn't worry about it.

 

yea they probably would be alright on a single wheel but not my dually,,,ive checked every place in my area which is 400k ppl,,,and i didnt want a rinkydink shop touchinmy truck either. no dumpster divin just yet gentlemen,,,theyre up discounts assright now but ill let yall know before i blow the start whistle

 

I put 20's on my 01 Excursion and have had no problems....I remove my wheels anyways to get it inspected/ allignment so the wonderful ASE mechanics wouldn't scratch my wheels anymore!!!

Sombody said "cheap" earlier in this thread....I hope it was your opinion on the quality of the wheels...Because $380.00 a wheel is not cheap.

I still think the rockstars look awesome. Wish I would have gotten them instead of the ones I've got.
