Kenwood? DVD/CD/Ipod/ NAV?

So what is the best bang for the buck. I want a 6.5 or 7" screen to play movies on and so forth when the kids ride with me. So it atleast has to have the cheat code, wire groundin gizmo, so it while play while I drive.

My cd's are mostly scratched so Im gonna buy an ipod, I never hear my phone ring and its important that I dont miss them as its always work or the wife both vital conversations. Ive even contemplating an Iphone(yikes) since the razor is such a pile.

They are supposed to go down after christmas cingular said.

On the Navigation side I was planning on getting the Lowrence Baja down the road but I thought if I could get it without too much more money.

I can deal with refurbished with a warranty or used if I can trust the source but I just dont really want to spend a grand on the unit.

Did I mention Sirius too, I already have a subscription I just need a radio to control it.

wow

Not asking for much, maybe throw in a toaster too. LOL

But like you i want it all, was just thinking about getting back into the aftermarket stuff. It's been awhile for me, so maybe some of the fine people on this site can educate us on the master system that does all.

Maybe this weekend i'll start looking and will post if i see anything.
Good luck, let us all know what you find.

You could also do an all in one package with navigation built into the head unit. Kenwood has the 7100 and Pioneer has the AVIC Z-2. The Pioneer comes with a built in hard drive that you can burn your music to and for storage of the navigation maps. They really are nice units. I believe you could probably get last years model pioneer (Z-1) for around $800 and it has pretty much anything a stereo deck could possibly do, at this time anyway.

Just put the Kenwood DNX 7100 in our 4Runner. It does all you mentioned and also has bluetooth for hands-free phone operation. It's pretty sweet!

I was leaning towards the Kenwood but I do like the hard drive in the pioneer.
I love however that none of them come ready to roll for that money. Still have to buy all the acc. boxes for local tv stations, sat. radio, ipod, bluetooth, etc.... I guess I need to go in and "test drive" them both and see which one I like best and then get on the net and start surfin.
