keeping the auto alive...?

I just traded off my 02 HO with the 6 speed for an 06 with the auto. The old truck was getting tired and it was time for a new one but the 6 speeds are non existant in the configuration I wanted. I settled for the auto.

I'm not planning on anything mod wise but intake upgrade and syn oil. I tow my scout all over the country. With it on the trailer, my old lady, and all our gear, it weighs in around 8500.so grand total its roughly 15.5k. With the semi stock power and relativly light trailer, will it live? What can I do to keep it alive? The truck has a tranny temp warning light but I want to put in a gauge. I plan on servicing it sooner than suggested too. Will this be enough? I'm no hot rod but I don't do 40mph either.

Thanks!

I sure you know but always flush and don't do a drain and fill. Keep an eye on the colour of the fluid if it chances then change it. City driving creates more heat than cruis'n down the road, ok to tow in overdrive on the flats but hit any hills take it out of overdrive... get a magtech 4 or 6 quart extra capacity pan really helps.....

you might want to update your sig...

cheers

Already changed the sig.

Is the tow/haul mode worth a crap?

If I install the pan myself, will it void my warrenty? I'm serious. Does dodge sell a deep pan?

I don't take chances like that the dealer install all my stuff... Magtech, do a google search their site will show up.

Tow works very well, it locks up the TC, you can use after 30mph for better mileage in town, also in tow mode it will slow you down better...

I would drop the pan and change the filter, as they get restricted just from normal wear. Also make sure to use atf +4 or Amsoil synthetic is also good fluid IMHO
