ISSPRO gauges installed

Love the new ISSPRO gauges. I went with a dash mount for Pyro, Boost, and Trans temp. I didn't hook up the trans temp yet as I am waiting for the cooler line replacement from Massdiesel. I am also not sure the wiring will reach the line and may have to fabricate an extension.

Question for those who have installed ISSPROs: where did you mount the amplifier boxes? I can't see drilling through anything under the dash to mount them, so I think I much just use some velcro or 2-sided tape. What have you done?

I taped mine together with a piece of electrical tape and tie-wrapped them under the dash. There's more than enough room under there...

I'd like to see pictures if you have them, as I am considering the issopro gauges, but I haven't decided on what mount to get (pillar, dash, or cubby)

I put the boost gauge in the A-pillar and the pyro and trans temp in a gauge pod over the rear view mirror. No pictures yet, I'll see what I can do to get some posted though...

Where is the best place to put the amplifier for the trans line. It looks like it will be too short to reach the transmission. The sending unit doesn't look like it will fit the test ports, does it? Sorry, I was all pumped when I got it now I am looking for answers on a few questions. Thanks. Also, I got the 3 wire harness with the gauges, I don't think that combo will work with these gauges?

I mounted the trans amplifier onto my alarm box, which is mounted to the steering column under the dash. I have the old school pyro that does not have an amplifier box.

For the ISSPRO Trans sending unit, did you all have to extend the wires to get the sending unit hooked up. Because, if I keep the amplifier in the cab under the dash, it seems the harness won't reach that far back. I'm putting mine in the test port. Also, is there a need to put a reducer on. I think I read something like a 1/8 to 1/4 reducer. I was looking at the sending unit and it appears that the thread might be too big to thread in to the port. These IISPRO gauges look really nice and match up well with our vehicle.

Hey cga97,

That trans cooler line from massdiesel, what is that for???? What do I need to install the trans probe, as far as tools/fitting go??? Any other ideas on the amplifier boxes, if I mount under the dash, will the wire still be long enough to reach where it needs to??? Also can I link my gauges together to light them, so I only have one connection to make, if so do I just wire nut the wire in between each gauge, or is there a better way?

The trans sender wire is not long enough to reach. You need to add wire, or replace the whole wiring harness from box to sender (the better option).
The trans cooler line from a 99 will have the test port in it. It is recommended to use this, rather than the pan.

How do you replace the wiring harness, and where do you get a longer one at? How much?

What I am going to do is just keep the harness and just snip and add a longer run to the existing wires and shrink heat the splice. Also, the sending unit that comes with the ISSPRO gauge, will that fit into the test port, or do you need some type of conversion/reducer and the sending unit goes into that? Do you guys put anything on the threads or do they thread in ok without any sealing agent.

Im thinking I'll mount the amplifier box for my EGT gauge under the dash somewhere.. probably directly under the steering wheel. Should work alright.

I just zip tied mine to the support bracket under the dash...........I mounted mine in the cubby hole. Worked out real good and I have the Mass Diesel line and had plenty of wire----------someone said you could add wire if it wasnt long enough without any problems.
