Inside of Intercooler Boots Dirty
Inside of Intercooler Boots Dirty
Hey guys when changing out the boots, I noticed a really light film of dust on the inside of the boots....this doesn't seem normal...turbo has no dust on it at all......I'm using a AEM intake...what gives before I get and amsoil filter...
I noticed the same thing on my truck after a long 4-wheelin' weekend. I changed the K&N out for an Amsoil w/a prefilter. If I go on a long wheelin' trip again up in that area (Mammoth Lakes, Ca), I might pop the factory set up on.
I'm thinking the AEM is not great at stopping superfine particles of dust like the oiled filters....
I had a slight amount of dust with my stock air box/filter. Put in an Amsoil drop-in, problem resolved. I now have an aftermarket setup, using an Amsoil nano and an Outerwears pre-filter, no dust anywhere.
