Thumbs up If you are on the fence about getting a Smarty, get off of it!

I just have to make another thread to praise the Smarty. Im sure other downloaders and boxes work very well, but man I love this thing. I had dyno'd my truck on level 5 last November in Houston at the DHRA pre-party and it made 397 hp.

Saturday, we had a North Texas Chapter GTG/Dyno event so I wanted to try the Smarty on level 9. I have been running it continuously I guess since early December so I have been curious to see what the power difference would be.

Anyway, my truck is bone stock except for AFE stage 2 air and Magnaflow exhaust. My best numbers out of 4 runs were 466.9 hp and 922.2 tq. The lowest number was 452/874 with the other 2 runs in between.

Here is the dyno vid......a little smoke....but the stock turbo cleared up pretty quick. http://www.riegerweb.com/Nortex_DTR/...I/TexasCTD.WMV

The Smarty is supposed to put out 170hp on level 9. In my case my original stock baseline was 280/528. So I was hoping for 450 and it did that and a little more.

Anyway, I know this is small potatoes compared to the big boys pushing over 800hp now. It just made me happy to be where I am with essentially no more than a Smarty.

Next up, is Fuel pressure upgrades....then trans....and go from there.

How ya doin?

I've been debating about the Smarty. Have you seen any mileage gains when driving normally??

Howdy Wetspirit.....Doing Great!!

I see a gain of about 1.5 to maybe 2 mpg over stock with the Smarty on any setting. It doesn't seem to make any difference what setting the Smarty is on or what kind of driving im doing.....city, highway etc. Just 1.5 to 2 mpg better.

I do alot of highway driving at 75-80mph with some city mixed in which puts me about 16.5-17mpg. I am sure it would be much better if I slowed down some. I have seen 18.5 on a long trip running 75.

Hey Robert, really good numbers!
Especially with the stock tranny and lift pump!

After this tank of fuel I'm bumping mine up to level 7. Hope the clutch holds up!

Nice numbers TexasCTD, add the anti-theft function and Smarty just looks better all the time.

Prospectortim was telling me about a no start feature and a start and run, but die when load is applied feature. As I understand it, those would be in "stock" mode. You'll probably need to check Mads site or look in the chapter #31 round table discussion forum.

Thanks Mike,

You got off of the fence on the Smarty, now you need to just go ahead and get off the fence on the clutch!!! Hopefully we will get to meet up again soon.

Robert
