What would i do when i got down to the last bolt?
I think this topic is gettin to the point of interest that it deserves a good going through of threads and putting together a sticky and someone needs to supply pics for it, as it is quick becoming the hot topic with way too many pages/ threads to look through to find out the real deal. any way a "pro at this mod or a few can get together and agree on the important thread/ replies needed t9o make this a guide? Or one dedicated member can do it with quoting replies..... please? definately worth a sticky if it gets done well, with the propper non binding liability clause.....
It's really a pretty simple procedure...especially if you have a manual transmission.
Lay down under the front of your truck and you'll see the damper that the serpentine belt goes around (it is directly behind the fan and towards the bottom of the engine).
1) Loosen the belt
2) Loosen the four bolts
3) Pull the damper off I (don't let it fall on your head)
4) Pull the tone ring off
5) File about 1/16th of an inch off of the counter-clockwise side of the dowel pin slot
6) Put the tone ring back on
7) Put the damper back on
8) Turn the tone ring clockwise as far as it will go while tightening one bolt.
9) Tighten all bolts to 30 ft-lbs + 60 degrees of turn
10) Put belt back on.
10 easy steps. Once you've done it you'll think you were silly for thinking it would be difficult.
