How to INSTALL Stack?
Well I am hopefully getting my 7" stack and 5" pipe on Thursday. So after that I'm going to hopefully try to install it.Was wondering if I could get any help? All the clamps and everything will come with it.
The thing I'm worried about is the whole I have to cut.A shop told me that its hard for them to cut a whole threw the slide in bed liner. They said spray on and without a bedliner is easy.Though a bed liner that is a slide is,is spouse to be hard to cut.IS THAT SO?My stack is 7" x 48" and I got it that long so I can put the stack below the bed.Cause I don't like anybody seeing 5" to a 7",so I decided to go 7" all the way under the bed. I got the stack from WALLY at F.T.E Diesel(GREAT GUY/CUSTOMER SERVICE).He said that I am spouse to weld something at the hole of the bed so the stack can slide into it.Any help or pictures or step by step would be great![coffee] |
pm me, i'll help you with it

Not to be a jerk, but how much more info do you need?
You've bought a kit, should go together fairly easily. Looks like Jlibert pretty much has it covered on the single stack, not much else to it really. Pipe, 90*, pipe/bracket to hanger, pipe, stack with bracket,........... done. |

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/.../DSC003361.JPG mounted em solid to the bed been there for 40,000 no problems and just have a 4 inch felx pipe to the stock exhaust no mufler kept the stock cat (they said i could keep my warentie with my cat) i love em i built my y pipe myself but you could do the same with a single just a big hole saw is all you really need. I like mine cuae i have no expensive calmps I do like the rubber insulator on the other white truck |
hey JLIBERT i forgot to ask you did all that come in your kit ( the insulators i mean) i like that

I made the setup myself. I bought a 48" chrome 6" to 5" stack, 5" flex, 5" elbow and necessary clamps. I used a piece of round stock bend at a 90* angle at each end to attach to the factory muffler hangars. I welded a tab to the back of the exhaust stack to secure the it to the bed without using a clamp. I couldn't find a 6.5" holesaw, so I carefully used a sawzall to make the cut in the bed.

Well I just wanted to see everyones Setup and see what I like.Thats all
