Question How to get EGTs Down?

What can i do to reduce EGTs? There are not extremely high, but could come down a little.

What's high? Are you running the CL tune, cuz otherwise I wouldn't think it'd be that hot. But yes, more air. How much boost are you seeing? A boost fooler might be all you need.

Do you still have stock exaust? Maybe water meth but a turbo is the best solution.

Yes i have stock exhaust, no cat, No CL but temp gets to about 1100 if i stay floored for a 1/4 mile in my extreme tune.i was thinking maybe a high flow muffler and a boost fooler. Im only seeing about 26 PSI with my extreme tune.

dude ! your truck almost needs a coat on with those temps ! That is a great temp to see at the end of the 1/4. Burying the gauge is a common thing for those with built trucks running down the track. I'd see 1500F and more by the end of the quarter. Of course, it's on it's way down once OT kicks in.

You're very safe only seeing 1100F

1100 is nothing for a common rail. I've hit 1700 before but 1400 is a fairly safe number. the boost fooler is a great idea. The muff is restrictive as well.

be careful if you plan to race with that stock turbo. It doesn't move a lot of air or exhaust. Sure, you can get some decent times with it but, you're doing it at the risk of damaging your engine. Drive pressures can get pretty high with it. You don't want to see anymore than 40psi out of the stock turbo. That's out of it's efficiency range which would be more around 20 to 30psi. At 40psi, you're probably just blowing hot air and not actually gaining from the boost.

That's not right. It has been dyno proven that 45psi on the stock turbo makes more power than 35psi and 40psi. I ran my stocker at 42-45psi for 25k miles. You're not going to do any damage to the engine as long as egts stay in check.

With your egts that low it doesnt seem right. Where is you egt probe mounted post turbo or preturbo. If it is after the turbo by the downpipe that is the wrong spot. You need it on the manifold to get proper readings. There was a plce around here that were putting them post turbo what morons.
