When you open the hood how do you tell the difference between the 2004 and 04.5 with the HO motor? What is an easy way of telling the difference of SO and HO when you're looking at buying a truck and the guy doesn't know!?

 

Look on the drivers side head cover it will say 325/600 for a 4.5 and up, or 305/555 for an 04 HO.

 

There should be a sticker on the drivers side of the plastic valve cover, it will say the hp rating if its 305 its a 03 or early 04 HO if it says 325 its a 600 series motor, and if it says 250 or 235 i cant remember which its a SO. Hope that helps. Joel
