Works really well.
Do you have pics of the ductwork leading into the box and the intake pipes leading to the turbo? What about pics of the filter inside of the box?

Guys, it doesn't get much simpler; there is no ductwork, and you're looking at the filter!

Don't worry, I won't hurt ya - even though I do have quite a bit of development time in this prototype.

Have you ever taken a sample of your oil to see what your silicon readings were with that setup?

On my 03 the rubber 90 that connects to the turbo looks a little different than yours. Where it widens to 5.5" it has waves in it (for lack of a better word) I guess to help it flex.

On Intake hoses dot.com they sell a 5" to 4" 90, do you think I could use this 90 with a 5" tube, which then connects to a 6" to 5" 90 which then connects to the filter?

I hope that made sense.

Thanks

Whistler "sucks"

I just installed the whistler intake and now I cant keep my foot out of it. It sure does sing. Now I'm going to use twice the fuel, wear out twice as many tires and probably get a few tickets in the process.

THANKS A LOT 53 ******

Well, I received the 5.5"X6" tube tonight and replaced the plastic tube with the baffles in it. It's amazing what a difference just that one piece makes. The turbo whistle is very loud and I can actually hear it over my straight pipe at full throttle. Thank you 53 ****** for posting this idea

I got my filter in last night. Nice unit by the way. I got an email from someone @ intakehoses.com saying up untill now they only sold 2 of the 90 degree 6" intake hoses a year. I must wait for a new batch to be made till I get mine. Now he can't wonder why he is all sold out now....If he could only see this thread . This is the reason he is sold out I'm assuming.

Any word on them mounting bracket/boxes yet?

Atta Boy *****

Lotsa people on this forum seem to have unlimited funds to spend on their trucks, ***** is a hero to those of us of more humble means, ATTA BOY *****!

It's pretty cool he's willing to spend the time to show us all an alternative to the high (over?) priced air intakes on the market.

Looking forward to see how the 'enclosed' element works out, in the meatime I think I'm gonna order the parts as well, hope shipping to Canada is not a problem, any other northerners done this yet?

I noticed he started this thread on Christmas morning, guess this is our Christmas present!

Sorry for the dumb question but how do you maintain that cone filter ******? Do you just toss and replace it after so long or wash it off or something?
