Way to go guy's!

I have been working on the box set-up but I am still not done.
I don't think I can do Stage II of the whistler without welding
witch is no big deal to me but it makes it hard for you guy's without access to welders.

THE FILTER DOES NEED A MOUNT!!
I popped the hood again to see how it was riding and notice it has settled down pretty close to the alternator But never touched it.
So a mount is defiantly a good Idea.
You guys may have to come up with that on your own because I will be using the factory box mount location for my stage II whistler and the filter is mounting in the box.
building a mount should be an easy job.
I will throw some pics up of the mounting Idea I have for stage I.

Thanks ***** for the idea, I did mine a few days ago and I love it. The whistle is way more the a BHAF or the K/N system that i made.

Mark,

I just ordered all of the parts to complete this project next week. Are the actual intake tubes sagging down along with the filter? I figured if the filter is sagging down then that means that the weight of the filter itself is pulling the intake tubes down also? Is that what's going on?

The K&N filter I have is not a cone but cylintricle and has a chrome end on it with a mounting bracket so mine won't move or sag. I'm also getting all my tubing and rybber 90's from an old White truck! I park my big rig at a big truck junk yard so I have access to alot of truck parts!:-) and I allready spotted my parts truck for this prodject! I'll let you know what happens!

the problem is the factory turbo elbow, it has so much flex in it and it allows the whole intake to tip forward not a huge deal IMO but to make it right it should have a mount.
I have been working on powder coating my stock wheels so I did not have the truck close by to work on the box or the stage I mount.
I will post up soon as I get them done.

Makes sense.

By the way, how long do I need to cut the 6" and 5.5" pipes on the setup?

Thanks,
Shawn

They are both 6" long. You just have to adjust them by sliding them in or out of the elbow to your liking. I didn't cut either one.
Arkapig, sorry I didn't reply to the pm sooner , been working a ton of hours!

Let me know how that turns out. I took my simulators OFF to drive around with "black" wheels. And I asked if the simulators could be powder coated, which of course they can not, but I asked anyway

I love the "stealth" look, and that is why I took the simulators off and I debadged my truck, and swapped the DRW tailgate for the SRW.

That is what is pretty cool about my truck. No badges, no fancy wheels, and then you get the smack down thrown on ya from a work truck, and then you pop the hood of my work truck and you get a little "bling" action from my BHAF.

I also shaved the letters off my valve cover cover, and re painted it black.

sounds like 6" is the ticket

I believe mine was 8" and then I trimmed it down from there, you definitely have room to slide it in and out of the elbow to where ever it fit's best.

Yes, please do!!!! I do not know how to post pics in a thread, but in my "home" section, I have pics o fmy truck. I am down loading pics of my truck with the simulators off right now, they will need "approval" and once they clear, you can see my truck. Also, I have pics of my valve cover, the new tailgate, my Walbro install, the BHAF (your pics are in my home section as well) but I do have pics of my BHAF in my "home" section also.

Also, I have a pic of my "race car" baby seat for daughter and my soon to be here (May 7th) son.
