53 ******-
Any progress on the intake shield / box? I received my parts order for stage II upgrade. Also the outerwears pre filter fits great. Really need to be pulling cooler air though.

Thanks a bunch.
Rick.

Thanks again - I ordered it just now to complete the job!

I am debating about removing the silencer ring - any input on benefits vs. drawbacks?

I pull my s-rings.. with a stock airbox I noticed a real small sound difference but not much at all ...the intake made the real change.
it wont hurt if you do and wont hurt if you dont.....so???

BTW my TAG is still in my turbo elbow

Thanks Mark. Let me know If I'm getting close on the list. I wish I had access to the tools to make one. Maybe... a few extra bucks could bump me up the list? Just kiddin'.

Thanks,
Rick.

no oil is needed, it is all dry....
blow it out with 10-20 psi shop air(from the inside out) or shop vac from the outside and call it good

Whether your intake tubing is 4" or 8" you're still only going to get 4 inch's diameter worth of air through the turbo.

Your theory regarding airflow is flawed just a BIT in this case.. You've gotta rate the CFM according to your design, and using 4" the entire run would seem to flow just as good as a larger system, but when you add length and bends you cut the CFM a good amount. If your entire intake was 6" long and had no bends then yeah, a 6" dia 6" long pipe isn't going to flow any more, but tapering down in size is best when a little length and some bends are involved... CFM wise..

Test the CFM of a 12" piece of straight 4" pipe, VS. a 20' long 4" dia pipe with multiple bends.. Drastic flow difference.
