Hey Quadzilla
Hey Mike how's it going? I was just about ready to order DiPricol RP and FP gauges until i herd Quad was releasing the RP/FP gauge again, so i think i'll wait to give it a try.
Hello Quad,
I'd be interested in knowing the official position of the original gauge that was updated to correct problems. You had stated before that a fix was in the works and hold on. Then again the same, a fix was in the works and hold on. Then again. Here recently you stated that if anyone had problems to call warrantee to get an new sensor and that the new fix would not work with preexisting units. I have not bothered you for a very long time due to your personal comments that a fix was coming. Now it seems that this has changed. Did I miss something? I have now waited past my official warrantee period. I know you are good for taking care of things past the warrantee period in general so I am not too worried. BUT is there a fix or not? If not I am concerned on 3 points. 1. I bought a piece of equipment and there are problems. 2. Fixes to the problems have been in the works for over a year and there is no clear answer, to my knowledge. 3. If the equipment is defective, as stated by you previously, does the consumer have to pay for the upgrades?
Quad please provide a definitive solution to the issues or direct me to the answer if I have missed it.
Thanks
Damon

Don't hold your breath waiting.

I got the new fix for the Commander, fuel pressure under warranty. It cost me $ for the new transducer and it still doesn't work, Called them and waited for some new update for the Commander to slow it down and it still jumps back and forth between 4 numbers. I'm soooooo disgusted I didn't call back again.

couple of you guys have problems with old units, but this is not what this thread is about, we want info on the new unit........ plenty of other threads about the troubled ones, why not post there and not hijack this one ?
how much ? benefits over the older one ? when will they be ready to ship ?
All our dealers should have pricing and info on them by the end of the week.
Benefits, we basically beefed it up. The original was done on a whim, super fast to make it super cheap. I guess it was more of a novelty and I never had the slightest inclination that we would sell them by the thousands.
The new one uses a better, weatherproof connection versus the non-sealed connection before and we now a way to support our fuel pressure transducer.
Basically you will buy the RPG from a dealer and you can order the transducer kit from us anytime. It is 100% plug and play, other than you have to install it!
This new RPG has a small "brain" that actually goes under the hood. This is about the size of our boost fooler and is totally weather proof. This allows us to supply large amounts of current to our board for the super bright LED's. We also moved the amplifier closer to the actual rail pressure sensor and we drive the signal the rest of the way ourselves. That is not drastically different than how we did it before but, it is the only improvement that could possibly be made in that area.
The wire harness from the rail is soldered directly to the "brain" so there is no chance of loose connections, bad pins, loose pins etc.
The wiring harness it self has not changed much but, where we double to signal wire in the connectors is now done in the molded side of the plug so there is not chance of a seal being compromised. The factory side of our harness will be 100% factory.
And of course we use the brain to supply the 5v power to the Fuel Pressure transducer. Because this is a powered sensor you never need to worry about where you install it to make sure it is grounded. You can use it for Fuel Pressure, Boost pressure, Oil Pressure, air bag pressure etc. Anything 0-100psi will work. The harness used for this is already in place and uses a 3 pin connector that is sealed at the transducer. So if you want it, buy it, screw it in and plug the harness in. If you don't want it, wind the wire out of the way and we done with it.
I think that covers most of it.
Also, we will be releasing a part number for a fuel pressure only gauge. This will include the transducer and will be available from your dealer. These are very, very accurate and I have not had one fail yet. It will be more cost effective than an analog/electric or most analog/isolated solutions.

We do have a fix in the works, it is a little more complicated than a new design. Basically we have to retrofit the old gauge and bring it up to the new gauge specs. We will be doing this much like we did for the Adrenaline and Commanders, we just do not have all the pieces ready yet.
It cost me $ for the new transducer and it still doesn't work, Called them and waited for some new update for the Commander to slow it down and it still jumps back and forth between 4 numbers. I'm soooooo disgusted I didn't call back again.
An analog gauge just cannot show you this because of all the buffer that is required for the needle movement not to mention, needles are usually signal driven with a low strength signal and are just flat slow.
With all that said, some of the early Adrenalines and Commanders that were fixed had some wrong parts put on them. They were not the wrong parts but, the wrong values. LIke anything new a few people that were assembling them did not understand or did not listen or read or follow directions? I really don't know why they were done wrong but, human error is most likely to blame.
If your gauge is bouncing in a manner it should not we definitely need to fix it for you because the new transducers work 100%.

Interesting.... I have one of those above quoted gauges. Maybe you'd like to buy the, "whim" "super cheap" "novelty" OVERPRICED, ONLY HALF OF IT WORKS (No fuel pressure) back.

If it was broken or did not work then why are you waiting until something new is out to want to return it?
Anytime something new comes out, all the old stuff does not work anymore? It is this weird phenominon that happens.
If you bought a rail pressure gauge and it does not work you can fully utilize your products warranty. If you have a fuel pressure kit, you can also fully ultilize the warranty on that part.
And yes, they were less than 1/2 the cost of any other rail gauge that was ever produced. We planned on making a few hundred for the hardcore racing guys and that was it so it was done on a whim.
Oh and even though it was super cheap, done on a whim and novelty, they work very well and there are tons of people that are happy with them.

The "Old Stuff" gauge works. When I bought it, I ordered the fuel pressure kit. The gauge was shipped and the fuel pressure kit was back ordered, and then discontinued. I'm not waiting for some new magic gauge to come out. You are the one who made the description about YOUR product. I will keep your description and reply in mind on future purchases....
As I stated above, there is a solution right around the corner for fuel pressure........even for the "old stuff".
I think my reputation will prove that we support old, and discontinued products about 1000% more than any other manufacturer ever has in this industry. We always either offer a retro-fit option, and upgrade option or something.
So, you can be mad about the gauge that you bought that works and that we discontinued the FP kit. Or you can be happy that you have less than 1/2 invested in a working product and in the near future you will be able to get a working fuel pressure kit, something that NO ONE else offers combined with a rail gauge.
Not to mention with both of them, you still will have paid less than any of the other rail gauges.
I guess I am missing how we wronged you?
