Hate my raspy exhaust and cab drone.

Thumbs up Shuttleworth mufflers.

I'm running a Shuttleworth diesel muffler installed by Orange Muffler aka Defiant Products in Orange County. Zero drone, but slightly louder than stock. I do have a std. cab. which minimizes exhaust due to no back seat. Other than that, the exhaust is stock. Killer.

I believe that this is the most widely used muffler, part #M090535

Correct me if I'm wrong...

I have both the D-51" at back and a Magnaflow 14" up front (both straight-though types) on a 4" system and it is nice & quiet, but still has a good tone to it, flows fine for the power level a stock turbo can run at. Actually, hear more noise from the engine than the exhaust. No Drone at all towing - Love it.

I have the 40 or 41" Donaldson & I like it. It was a good fit & no drone unless I'm towing 10K lb or more & I'm WOT. Other than that, no drone during normal driving loaded or unloaded. I do have my cat still.

Interesting. I installed a 5' cat delete MagnaFlow system and it's louder than hell towing. I might try the wrap.

Where did you mount the muffler? Do you still have the cat?

Look into the Hushpower muffler before you make your decision on which muffler to buy.

One thing I've heard from several people is that they installed the 98-02 exhaust manifold on their 3rd gens and it took away the raspiness from the exhaust and made the exhaust sound like a 2nd gen instead of the 3rd gen. Also, I've got a hushpower muffler on my rig and it really knocked the noise down. Even quieter than the diamond eye muffler I had on it. I'm running 5" pipe with a 62/71/13ss turbo.
