Doug,
Re:"and that the box with the lowest EGT represents the one more completely burning the fuel and more completely converting potential energy into kinetic energy."

Just a lay thought on this... I would think that the higher the EGT the more energy was created that the piston would convert into kinetic energy. Uncombusted fuel would actually have a cooling effect on the exhaust? (as well as more smoke, etc.)
Definitely, not a diesel combustion expert, KS

I'm no expert either, so your thought is as good as mine . I just thought that if energy isn't pushing the piston down (mechanical energy) then it is wasted in the form of heat.

Just thinking all things being..similar, I would like (need) some timing. The Volumizer is the only one that does this at the sub $500 mark. I VERY much like the one plug approach, but $695 + upgrade is a little steep for 50 hp more. I geuss I could call and ask if they could send me a Volumizer with as much timing programed as possible, but that would require effort . On a side note, if you change to a different turbo do you need something to boost fool? I know guys have used the B-lite, but I am hoping for a fully modified version.

we need to see more dyno results. so far I have nothing on the Banks, and VA sent me a dyno run showing their box making 340 RWHP.

Doug,
The dyno that VA sent you, was that the one from the pressure box or the newe duration box? Also, have you any more info on the duration box? Does it do anything with boost?

I have dyno runs for both. The only thing I know about the duration box is that about 100 have shipped, it does injector duration, makes 370 RWHP, does not raise fuel pressure, and does not do timing. not sure I know what you mean by "do anything with boost". We do know it does boost fooling like the pressure box does.

correction on the VA data:

The dyno run for the VA duration box indicates 362 RWHP peak output at about 2700 rpm, and 844 ft. lbs peak torque to the rear wheels at 1900 rpm. this is for a 305.

Thanks Doug, That's what I hoping to hear, that "it(the duration box) does boost fooling like the pressure box does".

Especially in light of Ted's latest info on the 305 engines.

I'll be putting on the ATS manifold and a 4' exhaust next week, then later a box - really like the VA duration box.

Well...I couldn't wait any longer. Just ordered the new duration Van Aaken from Piers. Should have it on by next week. I will report my findings...
