Hello I have to replace my front control module on my truck. I wanted to know if it has to be programed to your trucks vin# and if so is it just a one time deal. I was told that by the dealer it has to be programed. One I have a used on Part# 56051036ae a and don't know if it is the right part# and two like I said if it has to be programed and if it already was if it is no longer able to be used on any other Vin# vehicle. Thank you

 

There are a few companies around the country that sell rebuilt computers and modules that they will program to match your truck. I bought ECUfrom a company in FL for my '01 Dakota. It was plug and play, and about 1/3 the price of the dealership.
