i had ddp90s and was used to a little smoke and warmer temps and swithed to flux2.5s and these lowered the egts and smoke is unnoticable on stock programming and minimal on lower tnt settings, if I new these would be this clean and cool Id have got at least flux3s and i dont run twins

I have the same BD R-700 setup and would like to hear Don's input on this specific application. What's the size range for that sweet spot of max hp potential with reasonable mileage & heat/smoke control? I'm looking to upgrade too.

The R-700 is a great compound system, but obviously don't flow as much air as an MPI S480 based kit and probably can't effectively use these really big Flux injectors you guys are talking about.

Like said earlier, if you use a d-max pump in your dual cp3 kit, you can only do 20 psi or so. I like running the Cummins pumps. They don't mind higher idle pressure. Mine idled at 35-38 psi.

The last big power runs were Don'd BFI injectors that were built probably over a year ago. I can't remember when he did them. I'm sure the design and spray pattern has even gotten better than the ones i ran.

i've been looking at older posts and thinking between a 3.3 and 3.8 is going to be the sweet spot for the r700s

With the Flux 3s you will need more than that Arson kit.

PhilR and blackjet I also have the same questions as you, what the the biggest injector with the R700's? From the reding I have done the 3.3's look nice. Also, will a stage 2 flow 3.3-4.0 without lots of recovery time?, or will stage 3 be needed to keep the pressure up.

my stage 2 pump had a hard time keeping up with my flux 3.5 if I had any type of duration added

you might want to check your local pulls I had to go to a 3.0 class or umlimited before I was allowed to run my water system.

Knowing that you can make 750ish with flux 2.5s and the right twins, it seems reasonable to me that something in that range would be almost perfect for the BD R700s. But you could always run a 3 or bigger, and it would probabley be on the warm side, but 2.5s SHOULD (with the right mods) get you to the 700hp rating of the BD R700s. I would also consider runnin the super B special up top if you are gona see RPMs over 3000 very much. JMO.

wap, the standard top charger is just a super b?, why would the special be needed for 3000 or more?. What the deal with 4000+RPM?, I can see not having to shift sled pulling but what advantage is there in drag racing?, the trans will still shift at 3200 or so right?

3.3s will work, but are somewhat over designed sizing.
You might need to pin the wastegate shut to help control egts and make peak power.

Flux 2.5s are a great combination with the R-700 and are probably better suited to those turbos.

The 3.3s will leave some fuel behind for a nitrous setup...If your looking for a bit more power on track days.
