Flux Injector Nozzles

Just curious if I could get some feedback, positive or negative, on the Flux series nozzles.......

I am looking at the Flux 1 or Flux 2 nozzles, but want some opinions

My stock 03/04 nozzles have an 8 hole design, and the Flux 2s have a 5 hole design

Thanks for any and all info!

In my opinion I don't think you can go wrong with the flux injectors. The injectors will be setup for the year of your truck. The 03-04 injectors tips are different than 04.5-07 tips mainly the number of holes and spray angle. A flux 1 and flux 2 should have the same number of holes on the 03-04.

Don will take care of you.

I know for a fact that 03/04 stock nozzles are 8 hole design

The Flux nozzles, for 03/04 trucks, have a 5 hole design

I have never heard any bad feedback about F1 injectors. I've been running them for ~3 years now, no problems.

When I sent my injectors in, Don M was out of blank stock for our 03/04 tips. He extrude honed my factory tips to flow equal to a Flux 1.5, so that's another option you have.

Mine do not haze, the only real disadvantage is I cannot run quite as much advance timing as Don's custom tip, because of my wider spray angle. He inspects and flow matches, so you get a good result. Don't misunderstand, I would have rather had his custom designed tips, but....

Don't get caught up in the 5 hole vs 8 hole. You won't know the difference performance wise and the 5 hole provides greater strength where the 8 hole likes to crack.

The flux nozzles are first rate and warrant no worries about them at all.

8 holes have far superior fuel atomization.....

Any idea on why Don made them in 5 hole for a piston that was designed for a different spray pattern than what the 5 hole can offer?

I believe once you go over 90HP (flux 2?) nozzles Don makes the 03/04 nozzles a 5 hole design. His flux 1 and 2 nozzles are the 8 hole design.

Explained in my post just above yours.

The piston is not designed for 8 hole vs 5 hole. The piston is designed to achieve certain characteristics with the fuel/combustion process. The nozzle is then design to work with the piston, not the other way around. And the hole numbers are not really a part of that equation, but rather the spray angles are.

Don can explain this better than I, but on the 03-04, the nozzle material is not all that good and prone to cracking at the tip in the "thinner webbing" between the holes (8) and for the most part he'll use his new blanks to cut new nozzles. With the 04.5 and up, they are good nozzles stock and that is what he starts with.

As far as the atomization theory, while it does make common sense that this is so, empirical evidence has shown that ultimately whether in fuel economy or power there has been no advantage. Check out results from Bosio 10 hole or Scheid 12 hole tips.

Flux 2 nozzles (100-105 HP) are 5 holes
