Fitting 35s

I have MKWs and i looked up the offset and backspacing, this is what i found 12 and 4.97. Any idea if i can run 35s without rubbing? or what is the biggest tire size i can fit under my leveling kit?

thanks guys

i'm assuming that's -12 mm offset, and i think it'll rub in the rear of the fender well. my wheels are 17x8.5, with 5" b/s and +6 mm offset, and my 35x12.50x17 toyo mt's just clear.

With that MKW Wheels you have. It will rub w/ a 35" tire. It will also stick out atleast an 1 1/2"- 2" past the wheel well than stock.

As for what size tire for your leveling kit. A 35" will work fine, but you need to have the correct backspacing wheel to make it work. You need 5.5"-6" and a 8"-9" wide wheel for a perfect fit w/o rubbing and enough room to go off roading (if you go off road).

It will stick out a little, if you like that style. I personally love the tires stickin out a little it gives it an aggressive look. They will rub the back of your fender though. My wheels are 20'' dc-1s,-13mm and 4.5'' of bs, and they rubbed my fender until i did some fender trimming. It looks great and you can't even tell i cut the fenders. Oh yea i have a 2.5'' leveling kit, hope this helps.

The tire size is not what dictates what you can put under there it is the wheel BS.

A few posts down I am going through the same problem. I want a 35 and the wheel choices that are out there (at least the ones I like) are few and far between.

The wheels I have found are 17x8.5 with 5.375" BS and +15mm offset. I am gonna try and run these with some 35x12.50's or if I get the Toyos it will be 35x13.

Well I really dont understand the offset thing. I do understand the BS. I think with a 35 you are gonna be pushing it with a wheel that is shy of 5" BS.

I am wondering if the wheels I have picked out that are 5.375 are gonna fit. Granted they are 8.5 instead of 9" like yours....that will be the only help.

You need a wheel with a backspacing value as close to 6" as possible AND have a positive offset value. Mine are-- 5 5/8" backspacing and a +14mm offset on a 20" x 9" rim. No rubbing, no trimming, no bs. I do have a level kit though.

If you aren't going to change to the necessary wheel specs then you can't run 35's without rubbing--even with a level kit. You will probably be able to run 33's but you may want to test fit them to make sure.

yup, the thug is part of their atx line. many of their new atx wheels were developed with good b/s and offset for running big tires our trucks, and have been helped out by the fact that american racing bought weld wheels.
