I'm thinkin about gettin 285/70/17 firestone m/t's for my dually. Wonderin how many people are runnin them and how do they like them? All the reviews i read on tire rack were positive, and one guy claimed 70,000 on a set.

Here is a pic of mine, you can see every other lug is different. Like light, dark, light, dark.... These are just light truck tires, not intended for a diesel, I could see 70k on a Toyota but not a diesel. Why are you putting a spacer on the front? Do you mean in between the duals in the rear?
I rotate these tires every 3k miles and have had the truck aligned by two different lazer machines, and at 20k miles I will need a new set. I have about 15k on them now.

Looked long and hard at about every differet MT made, and for a number of reasons ended up going wtih Toyo Open Country MTs. So far so good, but I've only got about 500 miles on them. I'm pretty sure that just about any of the "good" MTs out there will only get about 25,000 on a heavy truck like ours - the guys that are getting 50,000+ are Jeep and Toyota guys.

I had a set of these on my old Dakota 4x4. They only lasted 30,000 miles, and this was on the lightweight Dakota!
I had mine siped and they had good traction..........but they also had a very soft rubber compound.

70K on some M/T's?
I wouldn't get M/T's unless:
A: You need great traction off road or in the snow.
B: You like the looks of them.
Any M/T I've ever run...20 to 25K and they are no better than a highway tire for traction, and wouldn't pass inspection if you have such a thing.
