Finally encoded the video from the mudraces
Great John. I was thinking about mounting something underneath my truck so when I hit record, it starts recording looking out the back, then break the tires loose and record that. I don't think the tires would disappear as usually the smoke rolls off the tires outwards. But it would be cool watching the driveshaft rotating around and the smoke just pouring off the tires.
Figure easy steel mounted around the transfer case and then bolting the videocam to that.

Hey John, I've been looking for a video camra. What do you have? Does anyone know about the kind that recordes it onto a DVD? I'm pretty technology stupid, so If I'm asking dumb questions tell me. Thanks, George
Nutty, I doubt your camera would be happy attached directly to the frame with no sort of isolation from vibration (that rhymed). I'm not sure if you could get a clear image that way. If you do it, please show pics/videos.
ds1rider, it's an older Sony mini-dv camcorder. I would advise from getting a dvdcamcorder because I don't know much about them
My camera is a Sony TRV-27. I bought it at bestbuy a few years ago, and literally 2 days after I bought it, they discontinued it, and a newer better model came out, and they wouldn't let me exchange mine. Basically all you need is a Firewire port and windowsxp, and everything else is taken care of from the most part. If you have any more questions, feel free to pm me your # and I can give you a call and explain things.
I'm currently uploading a high-quality in .mov format, in 28mb, with the music toned down a bit.

First page has the new updated link, on the bottom, if that's what you meant. I warn you though, there isn't much mud, it's a very silty-sandy type of dirt that's lightly damp. The high powered mod's were kicking up roostertails 20' high in the stuff.
Yes, I vote for the WMV route. 90% of the people browsing this forum are using Windows, and the WMV format is native to windows. If you are going to encode a video, please encode it in WMV or MPG so that all of us can see it. I don't have Quicktime installed to see the video. If Apple didn't make you install all of iTunes to get it I might put it on, but sadly they do.
Haha, I should setup a PayPal account for enjoyers of my videos, so that I may purchase new tires for new videos
I left the video at work today, I forgot to upload the **** thing. It'll be up around 10am
