which exhuast and programmer to get

i have a 07 2500 5.9l. im looking to either get a cat back system or just a new muffler. which one should i go with? also interested in a programmer as well. looking for more fuel mileage, is the banks a good system to get or should i stick with the quadzilla or edge?

new muffler is just fine. The system is already 4" which is good up to around 500hp. I like MBRP.

Stick to Quadzilla or edge for programmers. Banks has a bad rep, and if you have a banks product, the best thing you can do with it is to get rid of it.

Edge EZ is a good box, but after a long time (100k miles) your injectors will start to hate you. Seen 6 replaced at 127k which was like 1700 dollars.

Quadzilla makes a solid product. They also post on this forum.

I believe that with the smog junk on the newer ones you cant do away with the cat anyway.
Just go with a muffler. MBRP is good.
As the previous poster stated, Banks has issues.

Agree with the others-- I have Banks, it has been "OK" but too expensive for what you get back, it doesn't "play well with others". Have had good cust serv. with Quad. I wish I could have had this kind of info before I purchased!

What type of issues have people known to have had with banks, I thought about there stuff but quad does have a very nice product for a reasonable price.

Donaldson makes a good muffler. I have been very happy with my Quadzilla.

I have a MBRP Cool Blue Duals setup on my Dually with a AFE Torque tube and Bullydog programmer with "Crazy Larry" Not a single issue with this setup but I will warn you.....ITS LOUD !!! Depending on wind down here in South Texas, my truck gets about 19-21 on the highway. Im hoping it gets better with the bigger torque convertor and valve body.

I have (and am hapy with) the Bully Dog Triple Dog (lots in the classifieds) and a 40" Nelson, cheap, free flowing and not obnoxiously loud.

See sig for current mods. I did about 3 months of research and budgeting before I bought a thing. Once I decided on what I felt was right for me I just did a weeks worth of internet shopping for the best deals. I couldn't be happier with how my baby performs. The Edge Juice with attitude is awesome and gives you all the gauges (except fuel pressure and tranny temp), stacked with the Diablo puck it is awesome+2. I'm also averaging 16-17 MPG in town and up to 23 on the highway, it's unbeatable. From my experience "don't start heavy, start smart". As far as Banks goes I have E-mailed them a few time with questions about their parts and compatibility with others and have yet to get a reply back!

I would say the Smarty and MBRP too. But make sure to run gauges with any programmer setup!
