Has anyone thought of adding exhaust cutouts to be able to choose between muffler or no muffler? I know they are illegal in most states when used in a conventional car setup where they are used without any type of muffling device. It seems the turbocharger changes that whole picture. If you can get away with running an un-muffled turbo diesel, wouldn't it also be OK to have cutouts that are after the turbo but before the muffler? This would allow you to switch to free flowing/loud mode depending on EGT or just what kind of mood you are in. The Marine industry has electronic or pneumatic actuated cutouts like shown in the following link in both 4 in. & 5 in. sizes. A little pricy but would allow you choice!
