I have a edge with att but was looking at the smarty. i don't like that i will have to get gauges and can't change power on the fly. but do you think i like the smarty over the edge for as power and smoke. i like to blow a little smoke i just had to replace two injectors and wires and was told the edge may have been the reason????????? I plan on some 50/90hp sticks and a tranny soon. what do you think is better????

 

You can get the Smarty with the POD so it is adjustable on the fly. Not the most convenient, but its adaptive, it will only get better. You would have more tuning parameters also for what mods you run.


The Edge is nice too, they have been in the biz for quite awhile and make solid stuff. You just have to decide what you want on your truck on your own. One persons opinion can differ vastly from anothers, you'll never know til you try what is itching at you.

 

Where are you located at?

Maybe somebody who lives around you who has a Smarty will let you try it on your truck...

 

Buddy of mine has an Edge in this and a previous truck. I've got the Smarty and like it much better. Either way you need gauges to be safe and with the Smarty you can get the POD and updates are available quite often. Also, the guys at MADS are great to work with. Thus, I would figure it's pretty much up to personal opinion and mine is I like my Smarty a lot more than his Edge!

 

I would add a good fuel filter setup also. Filtering the fuel will help keep the injectors healthy..

 

Just on the programmer issue here... I have had both... smarty hands down. I have a edge vs smarty thread around here somewhere...
