Edge Juice with attitude questions for towing.
ahh, yes but your also starting out a couple MPG to the good. They say the SO trucks respond a lot better to the boxes than the HO's. I thought if you had a 48RE you had the HO motor, guess I was wrong.

Yea, but you guys have a little more motor under the hood than I do. I have the lowley 235HP SO, (that was all I could get in MA in 03) so I am starting out 75 to 100 hp less than many of yall...
Another question I have on the Juice, If I get an aftermerket torque converter, will the juice still be able to detect converter slippage ?

As for the Edge, I love mine, I also tow a heavy 37' 5er. I get approx 16 mpg average mileage on my last trip with it, that was through the rocky moutains of lower BC and including city driving etc. I tow on 5 with a stack too,, but I do have a bigger turbo and a good tranny. But all in all I really like the edge and recommend it to anyone

My setup is pretty much exactly what you're looking into. I tow on level 1, and daily driving on level 3. I went with the Edge Juice/Attitude because it was the programmer & gauges all in one unit. I love it, but then again, I haven't tried anything else.
The Attitude also keeps records of max EGT's, Boost, RPM, etc. On level 5, I've seen TC slip as high as 50%. Needless to say, my next mods are coming from Dave Goerend.

i ran the edge ez before i got the juice, and it gave me better fuel mileage when pulling about 11,000 pounds. i let my dad borrow it on his work truck( 5o gallon full fuel tank, loaded tool box and about 1,000 punds in equipment) and he got 22-23mpg going from here to oklahoma.
I like my Juice/Att
Anything that gives you advance will help in the milage department. Mine does best in about level 3 for milage (keeping my foot out of it of course) I have the juice/att on my SO and I always watch TC slip, load, egt and boost. I have an upgraded TC and valve body and can still slip it while towing. (hello Tripple Disk) The juice will also defuel for TC slippage, unless you shut that off. I bought it because it was the most complete gage package available, plus a little kick in the pants.
I agree with qmcdt. The Juice WILL slip in all levels if you are towing anything. I was towing my 14k gooseneck yesterday and the Attitude was reading 1% slip every 2 seconds and the power would lag for 1 second every time. So, I basically had 2 second power shots going up an incline. This was in OD though. Once I hit the OD OFF button and slowed to 55, no more slippage.

I can not wait to tow my camper this spring. I had juice w/attitude put on this fall and really like it so far. Can't tell yet about milage because of too many factors like cold temp, bigger tires, and winter blend fuel. What I really like is how factory look, easy to use and read, and the turbo timer. With my pacbrake on and the engine temp is not at 180 it keeps my EGT's about 650 I can jump out of the truck with the key to run into a store and the truck will keep running. Once the engine temp hits 180 pacbrake shuts off, EGT's come down to 330 and the engine shut off. Nice for me in a cold climate.

Mine works as originally advertised. There may well be a 2-3% error, but as above, pulling up a hill in level 3 or higher, I can push the throttle down and make the slipage goto 7% or higher and then actually feel it slip. Just like a toasted clutch in a manual, the RPM climb and the speed stays the same or drops.
qmcdt, I would talk to Craig in Edmonton, you shouldnt be slipping like that. And also I wouldnt even think about being worried til after 1350 pre turbo. (wasnt sure if you were post or pre turbo for your pyro)

I've spoken with Craig and Barry. Barry said to bring in my trailer this summer and if I can show him it slips, then we'll get to haggling. My Pyro is pre-turbo, and I'm still trying to work out why I've never pass the 1200 degree mark. Maybe I'm just protecting the TC before the pyro pins. I want to see my EGT's while towing with this new exhaust, though. It should be neat, if the TC dosn't hatch.
Hey morkable, is that the 17th of Feb. I would like to come check out some of the rigs, see what kind of power is being made.
Since I bought this dodge I am so impressed at how easy it is to make power compared to a gas engine.
