Edge J/A ? or problem!!

Hey guys new to the forum as you can see! How Ya'll doing! Anyways 2 ?'s for ya. A year ago in Jan. truck went to the dealer for Injector pump leaking fuel. Now just this past weekend, Friday night headed to work and ran a Chevy and got down the road and noticed fuel smell. Ended up #4 line to injector had sprung a leak. Is this the edge or just normal wear and tear. I usually run in 1 and every once in a while will run 3-5 not often just when provoked.Other ? is the EGT's seem to run high I turned down the responsiveness to 3 on all 5 settings and that seemed to help. Still getting on up there got the EGT's set at 1300 so I don't tear the thing up is that to low. Everything else is about the same. Max boost set at 42. Whatcha got as far as suggestions!!!!!!

Welcome to the DTR. As for you questions #1 I think that your injector lines may have been loose and vibration caused it to spring your leak. As for your EGT's Edge is pretty well known to run kinda hot. For me I keep my alert set at 1350 with a max of 1500 and I just keep an eye on it when I really get on it. If you turn down your low end boost it will now fuel as hard when you are low on boost so naturally your EGT's should be somewhat lower. Hope this helps.

High pressure pumps and the injector line are both known issues. There is a keeper you can get that will fix the line issue and there are a lot of truck out there with a small fuel puddle due to a leaking pump. I think there was a TSB for the line at some point.

As far as the Edge goes, yes it does run a little hot but when you throw fuel at these trucks they all run hot.

To sum it up, everything you are experiencing is normal.

As mentioned all typical.

Sometimes you get leaks - nothing to do with the Edge.

Sometimes you run hot - everything to do with the Edge.

But based on your setting you are conservative so your impression of what is hot may be a little lower then what other people call hot. Try this, set it back to stock and just watch what the temperatures do when doing things you normally do. They you can compare apples to apples on what the differences are. I am sure you will still get alerts on the Attitude even with the setting on stock.

The input is helpful. Just did not know what would be safe range for the EGT to be I think edge told me 1350 or so. I drive this puppy 80 miles a day to work so if this goes down I have to drive mommas car and I do not like doing that. Just got the truck back from the dealer still in warranty for 9500 miles. Couldnot get the AFE off loaned stock to a friend didnot have it so they seen it and told me that the turbo was trashed?, But still pushes 42 psi with the edge but could not tell them that so another head ache I hate going to the dealer but warranty is warranty.

That's why I haven't been to the dealer since buying my truck. No clowns are allowed to touch my truck.
