Walt,
I don't know what to tell you. Is it squeeking where the brackets meet the frame, or where the brackets meet the step? I'd say put some Lock Tite on them buggers, and snug them good. I'm sorry, but I don't know the torque spec. Overall would you buy these again? I might be able to get some factory steps from a buddy, but I'm still interested in these.

Thanks,
Nick

I threw out the provided instructions ... maybe they had a higher spec, but I'm afraid to go overboard.

Thanks!
Was there plastic or rubber peices with the kit? Mine came with end caps that looked like they were just there for shipping, instuctions didn't mention one way or another, so I left them on between the brackets.

I just wanted to say, even though this thread is winding down, that I too bought a set of bars from a seller on E-bay. I am very pleased with the quality, and as you can see from my sig, the price was RIGHT too! They are your standard round 2nd gen tubes, and couldn't be happier. I just accepted the fact that I don't care if there is no "name" imprinted on the tread.
The seller has a load of negative feedbacks, but also has over 87,000 transactions.

The bars look good, to other buyers beware of add-on nerf bars or running boards, try and get a copy of the install instructions before you buy. I did not realize how much work it was going to be to install my running boards, drilling holes with a right angle drill etc.

The bars are attached to the frame using the far front and far back cab mount bolts. The cab is attached with 'cab mount isolators' and that is where the squeaking is coming from. I Loc-Tite'd the crap out of them recently, but the squeak was back in 20 miles or so. I guess I'll crank them in super tight this time (maybe 110 lb-ft) and see if that fixes it.

I don't think I'd get them again ... it's not that there's anything wrong with them ... I think I'm just too **** retentive about the details. I'm going to save my pennies and get those cool AMP-Research power steps. I've seen the factory steps and I like their quality a lot more than these. Just my $.02.

Thanks for your feedback about the bars! I might try to get the factory 4" oval steps.

Thanks,
Nick
