Turns out I may be okay on the drone if it is indeed at 2200 RPM's. Going to lunch I set my cruise on 70...which is my typical highway speed...and the RPM's were hanging somewhere between 2000 and 2100. I also noticed that I usually shift gears right around the 2000 RPM mark....so with my typical driving I shouldn't experience any drone based on what you've told me. Perhaps on the occasion that I'm winding the gears out for some reason.....but other than that my RPM's usually stay below that.
I see you finally got the Edge EZ on there. How ya liking it? I don't know what yall are talking about "bad" drone for. I've got 4" straight pipe dumped before my rear axle. Now that thing droans BAD. When I had the muffler on there, it didn't drone at all. It was dumped as well.
I have the DPPI dual system on my truck. It does drone from about 68-72 mph on a srw with 3.73 gears. I do not mind the sound. If the radio and the air are both on I can't even hear it anymore. If you are worried about the drone with the DPPI setup don't even consider a straight pipe. I rode in a friends truck that was straight piped and it lasted until his next paycheck when he installed a Dynomax setup. That thing was awful, especually when he was pulling his camper as the drone was bad but the sound also reflected off of the trailer. I would attemd a trcuk show or dyno event and ask around before spending your money if you are worried.
Good Luck with the decision.

I'm still leaning towards a straight pipe at this point....unless it's just too loud (in which case I'll put a muffler on).
For everyone looking at a DPPI system, just be warned that you should call and talk to them about their systems instead of just reading their website. The website apparently has not been updated recently and you may not get what you think you're getting when you order them.
For instance, although it is fairly well known that they are using an MBRP system, this is not indicated anywhere on the site. Just know what you're getting.
Also, even though the tips in the picture appear to be welded on, they are not. They are bolt on.
Also, if you are looking at an aluminized system be aware that contrary to what the web page said, the hangers are NOT welded to the pipe. The aluminized system comes with all bolt on clamp style hangers.
In my opinion they need to update their site so they are not misleading people. Regardless, just do your homework before you purchase so that you know what you're getting.

Let me start by saying you are right on the other parts.
I just think this part has been blown way out of proportion by several people on this site.
IMO it is not up to the retailer to inform anyone about who makes the product for them. They should answer honestly if asked, but think about all of the products that carry one name, but are manufactured by someone else.
John Deere residential products - MTD
(This to me is a prime example because how many people out there wouldn't touch a MTD, but if you put a John Deere sticker on it, it sells like hotcakes.)
Mazda Tribute - Ford Escape
(Again, how many people would buy one over the other either because they "want to buy American" or "the Japanesse make a better car")
Harley Davidson does not own any refineries that I know of, but the oil is mixed to their specs so a Harley owner won't run anything but their oil in their bikes.
And the endless number of products that get a different paint color or sticker package and are sold under a different name.
As long as the product is made to their specifications, I think it should wear their name proudly.

It probably sounded worse than I meant it to be. I am happy with the product and whomever's label is on it, I could really care less. It does the job as depicted.
It was weird getting a box shipped from DPPInc that had a big MBRP logo on the side of it and the tip had MBRP etched into it. I was surprised, that's all and didn't realize that was what I was getting. That's not bad, but some people (HD oil scenario for example) are very brand specific and would go overboard if it wasn't exactly what they thought they were getting.
I like the product, but agree maybe it should be thrown out there with a little more exposure about who makes it for whom and for what specifications. No big deal really.

Amartinson, I do not disagree with you. I really have no problem with the MBRP system. From everything I've heard it's a high quality system. I'll be buying one from DPPI in the very near future. My only purpose in posting what I did was to tell everyone to do their homework before they buy (which should be common sense).
Until recently, I was under the impression (from their website) that the DPPI system was designed and is manufactured by them. It's not a big deal to me that it isn't, but on the other hand I think people should be aware of that fact. When you're expecting a DPPI box like PHX_ATP was and you get a MBRP box then it kind of makes you scratch your head a little bit and wonder what's going on. If you do your research then you know up front what you're getting and there are no surprises. Personally, I don't surprises when I'm buying stuff like that.
Had I not been made aware of this and ordered a DPPI exhaust I would have been a little bit ticked off when a MBRP exhaust showed up at my door. That's not because there is anything wrong with an MBRP exhaust. It's just because it's not what I thought I was buying. Like PHX_ATP has, I would have gotten over it once I realized that I got a quality system, but my initial feeling would have been that I had been mislead or that the wrong product had been shipped to me.
I didn't mean to make this a big deal....but I do think everyone should know what they're getting when they place their order. Most of what I posted above I never would have known had I not "happened" across the information in one way or another.

I have the 4" dpp aluminized system and love it. Installed very nice sounds great and I have no drone problem. My aluminized system also did come with stainless hangers welded on the pipe already. Stainless tip is nice and fits very tight. I use steel wool and laquer thinner to clean the tip when it gets nasty, looks like new.
