Hey Mark,

have you had your truck into the Dealer yet? (since the stack install) I was curious about what they said or might say about moving the cat like you did...

it goes in in the morn for A/C work...I think my recir door is broke.

I don't think they will say anything about it but who knows???? I know I wont say anything their shop in under ground when I pull in there in the morn with the 7" stack pointed right at the ceiling they are probably going to look under there to see what all the noise is about
I will post up if they give me any grief....
now the question is..should I leave the cat on when I install the 51"er??? or toss it???? I guess I will see how it all fits first.........

So can I get a 51" Donaldson in a short bed QC without the tailpipe coming out funny looking?

I'm leaning between a 40" Nelson and the 51" Donaldson. I want to use an RPM Outlet muffler delete pipe because it is short and provides the offset it need. I want to keep the kitty too.

I know I can do the 40" the way I want, its like Fisherguy's setup. But I don't know if I can get the 51" under there without some weird exhaust angles.

Thanks for your help!

Now I saw this finally... I LOVE the sound of that muffler on the truck, but that sound was made without the cat right?

Couple of questions:

Will the muffler fit (I have a Mega) without removing the cat?

Has anyone found a 4" I/O muffler that sounds this sweet?

Are they really only $67????

I bet it will fit if you have a bumper exit exhaust...
4" is raspier then 5" no matter what muffler you run....5" gives the DEEP rumble

if you want to make sure it fit just take out your tape measure and see if you can fit 51"s of muffler under there with your cat.

Thanks 53 ******,

I looked on the Donaldson site and they have a zillion mufflers, and some of the offset ones have more flow than stock. I have to see how big of a pain it is to mount a straight IO muffler. I don't have a shop close by that can make a transition bend in a 4" pipe. Maybe there's an online pipe shop I could by a bend from.

Then I need 4" - 5" adapters. But the sound of that 5" is just perfect....

I know, I know, old thread...

But anyway, got my M090535 yesterday. The thing is HUGE!

I was taking a close look at it, and it seems to be designed similar to an Aeroturbine, where it splits flow and recombines it. Whatever, I don't care, as the tightest restriction seems to be 4".

As far as the adapters, all are available at http://store.airflo.com/

I was going to be lazy and have someone install, but I think I'll do it myself. I plan to make the offset with two 45° bends (4" id to 4"od), trim one to make the correct offset, get two reducers from 5" od to 4"id and one extension pipe. That, a sawzall and some clamps and I think I'm good to go. If I like it, I'll have someone weld it up. I can't wait to give it a shot!
