CBrahs,

What speed are you travelling at to get the 18 MPG. Right now on #1 diesel you are seeing 15, right?

Currently I see about 13-14 in mixed driving in my truck with a 4.5 inch lift and 35s. Better on the highway as the larger tires have gotten the RPMs to drop with the manual...however, I realize that once the lift and tires went on, I would sacrafice the fuel mileage. Before the lift I could see 18 MPG at 63 MPH, now I can maybe get 16 MPG.

Are those of you running the bigger tires getting the speedo recalculated? What does your over head say? I havent driven far enough yet to hand calculate, but after getting my speedo fixed my overhead says 18. That is with 37s and mixed driving. I also rarely see over 1800 rpm.

I've got 325 60 20 Toyos and a 4.5" lift and I'm seeing around 16 in town hand calcd. All stock but missing the silecer ring and gutted the rest of the intake.

Please please.. Do not put hyrogen in your tires. Heres what it looks like when they fill a Zeppelin with it. Nitrogen however is supposed to be a mileage improver. I think its snake oil as well.

i usually travel at 80mph on the freeway. at that speed, my RPM's are 1850 and I let the cruise take control. Last trip I took to cali and back (from albuquerque) I got 18.87 mpg.

You oughta plug the numbers in your smarty and recal the speedo it'll save you a ton of time on those "oversized tire conversion formula" hand calcs. I used to have to convert mine like that every time too...

I figured the overhead lies but I have only used 1/2 a tank since i got the speedo fixed. When I fill up next I will calculate it out.

The BF Goodrich All-terrain T/A KO LT285/65R/20E is almost 35" tall 34.7") and it's only 11.5" wide. It'll fit on a 8.5" wheel. Centerline has forged aluminum wheels (polished or chromed) that are 20" X 8.5" wide with enough backspace to keep the tires inside the fenders. I'm going with this combination as soon as I wear out first set of factory tires. I bought my truck with 4.10's so I could go to a taller tire later and not lose any power.

I get about 13mpg with my set-up. I dont what it would get stock...I had the lift and tires put on a few weeks after purchasing the truck.

But Im not complaining. If I wanted good gas mileage I wouldve bought a honda civic. I dont ever expect to get good mpg...
I have learned one thing from the years of driving...if its good on gas, its not that fun to drive LOL
