Cut off The Cat

Has anyone with a 04.5 600 cummins cut off the cat converter, if so, how did it effect your performance, fuel mileage , power ect.
I would like to see if it is worth doing, because it will severely effact the warranty, as said by the local dodge dealer.

Because according to Dodge, it is breaking federal emission law, and penalty for doing so is void of all warranty, from dodge, not the local dealer

well... what I would have done is not asked Dodge... then, if you had any major issues, swapped the cat back in place.

now, I have no idea if that's actually Dodge's rule, but if your truck came in with come kind of defect, it would be up to the DEALER to deny your warranty based on a removed cat. I know plenty of guys running without cats who have no problems w/ warranties.

now, if the dealer denied you and you appealed the issue higher, you may very well get shot down.

I wouldn't risk my warranty!!!!

Dodge had the plan figured out, in order to remove the cat on a 04.5, you would have to cut the welds, at either end of the cat.
It is not flange mounted, and removal, then reinstallation would be easily noticed. I dont like it.

Sorry, but I'm locking this one down.
