Suncoast no longer does it. The only reason I was considering this swap was I could get the Allison for bout $900. If it'll cost the same or more, I too would rather have mine built. As always, you guys have been very helpful.

 

I have a second gen truck with an allison sitting on the garage floor ready to go in. I'm using a built allison, triple disc converter, with Howards adapters, and the de-stroked controller. This install is also going to use a 3rd gen transfer case.
I lost three transmissions in my truck and all of them were built for towing. There are problems with the dodges and at some point they will break. I read of people constantly starting threads where they are having trans problems. If you look at the size difference between these transmission its amazing. They are massive by comparison.

If I were racing I would stick with the dodge because every time the transmission shifts you slow down, the ally has more gears so more shifts= slower.
Since I'm towing more gears=better towing performance.

I am going to document the install of this and post. The install is starting in two weeks.
