I dropped my truck off this morning for some regular servicing, and asked them to Flash the PCM with the TSB to correct for the crappy fuel mileage, hard starting and white smoke. Their response to me was that they could not do it , because of the fact that I have my truck chipped with the Edge Juice w/Attitude. He stated that the flash could cause an issue with the Edge, has anyone heard or experienced this before?

 

Never heard of that, but its not a good idea to take a truck to the dealer with performance parts on it anyway. Pull it off and take it back.

 

It is unlikely that an ECM flash would effect the Juice/Attitude, but I can see the dealer's reluctance. It is connected to the ECM and could potentially effect the flash load. I have not had a situation that I needed an ECM flash from the dealer since I have added boxes and downloaders so I don't really know what mine would say. I do not take off any of my performance boxes off when I have sevice department doing work. But if ECM flash needed, I would consider disconnecting all wiring harnesses.

 

My dealer really didn't want to do a flash with a box on the truck either. Another dealer flashed it about 1yr later with TWO boxes on the truck, go figure.
