i recently purchased a camander from a member here,i havent finshed installing it yet but i have the unit mounted in the truck,today i noticed w weird "splotch"on the side of the screen,as the cab warmed up it got smalled and finally went away,it does this all the time now that its cold here.is this normal?i dont have power to it yet,will power to it make this go away.thanx

 

I did not have the splotch, mine would just go black (under power) and then inverse the screen. I sent it back and they replaced it without any problems. New one is working fine so far (about 2 months in service).

Should not have any splotches.

Here are a couple of things to check.

1.) Make sure the mount is not putting any pressure on the plastics, or too much pressure I should say.

2.) If it is really old there is an outside chance that the protective clear plastic got left on the back of the LCD display. I doubt this since we have not made that mistake in a long time but, it is possible.

You can check the tightness of the screws in the back of the Commander as well.

If it becomes a real issue call tech and you can always send it in for us to check out! I am sure we can solve the issue.

 

thaanx for the replys,ill check thosethings today,maybe when i get her powered up it wont be to noticable,its only when its cold that i see it.

 

Make sure that it is updated with the latest download, that might help.

 

Mine flashes as well. It inverts back and forth. Weird thing is under hard acceeration it stays correct. I need to pull it and send it in but I'm lazy. On a side note I really like the way it functions.
