If you want a cold air intake do the psm airbox mod or the home depot airbox mod. This mod along with a AFE PG7 will support 450hp. If you plan to have more power than that you may have to do something else. A DPP cool hose is a good mod if you don't like the factory torque tube. The hotter the intake air temp the less power the CR trucks make. A lot of CAI's let in hot air which cause the trucks to defuel. I have the home depot mod with with the cool hose with $200 invested. CAI are more $$$$.

What year? Fill out your sig so we know what your working with.

But a good OE style filter and a home depot mod or psm mod, like CRToney said, and a Airaid MIT will get you better smoother air than stock and will support 450 hp easily. Then take the money you would have spent on the CAI and get a GDP Intake Horn.. You will be leaps and bounds ahead of a CAI.

Save your money and just mod your stock air box. I have the PSM and love it but the Home Depot mod is way cheaper and just as effective.

Ditto on the stock box mod. Use all the money you saved and put it towards a Smarty JR. Lower EGT's,more power and slightly better mpg.

I sold my AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake and went back to a stock air box with a homemade PSM and it works excellent, save your money.

I'm new to the modification world and am considering the cold air intake. But, excuse my ignorance, can you clarify the "Home Depot" air box modification? Thanks....

I just did the home depot air box mod but I went with a covered drain for a flange. I cut the hole and slide the flange in. the reason I did that is so when I get in super dusty conditions or when playing in a lot of water I can screw the plug in and have the flow of a stock air box. then I can remove it to have more flow. the pics are in my gallery.

When I get around to building mine, that is the plan.

I've got an AFE Cold Air Intake I just took off my 2006 Megacab. If anyone is interested in it they can have it for $100. Just traded the truck in and put the OEM factory intake back on.

I have had a Scotty Ram Air since it was new - love it and zero problems, better throttle response at least by my SOP sensor - dont think they are made any more but, bet you could find one if you looked hard enough or asked around on this board
