First it always helps to fill out your signature!!! People will know what they are dealing with better.

I am going to go out on a limb and assume you have a 610 series motor which would be a 2005-2007 truck?

Assuming I am right this code is really a pain in the rear more than anything. It can mean a lot of things but, it is typically tied to the lift pump or FCA. Basically the desired fuel pressure at the CP3 is greater than the actual fuel pressure at the CP3. Now, there can be a lot more reasons but, this is the most common. It can get complicated but, most of the time this is it.

The only ways I know to solve it is either get your stock lift pump replaced and hope you get a good one. You can also add a pusher pump and that seems to solve it.

This is fairly common with any power adder but, if you tow heavy or drive really aggressive it shows up on stock trucks more than you would think.

If your truck is stock then take it to the dealer and have them run some tests. If it is modified I would throw a pusher pump on it and see if that solves it.

I fought this code for two years. I had many threads on this site about this code. I talked to several well known diesel guys we are all familiar with. I ran several "tests" on the truck over this time frame. I also replaced many parts. Nobody could figure it out. December of 2014 I solved this problem- haven't had this issue or code since.. I installed a fuel sump!! Just stating what finally worked for me!

i think you shouldnt take your truck to a mechanic who has you buy new parts and pay him to install them because he "thinks" its the problem

I fix my 2006 Ram 5.9 with PO148 code by changing the fuel filter....I change the OEM Bosch Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor with no success, i change the Fuel Pressure Regulator with no success and the last I change the fuel filter and BINGO .....after you change the filter your car may run poor, you have to rev the rpm to clear the injectors .......if the filter is not the problem in your case you can change the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor...Thank you...
