Can stock bumpers be used as jack points with a hi-lift jack?

If the bumpers can be used as jack points I was considering having some T grooves made in the pumpers like this.

i dont think the stock bumper would be suitable unless you reenforced it, if you did reenforce it the closer you put the T groove to the mounting point of the bumper the stronger it will be and not bend the bumper

I've seen it done, but one use usually bends the bumper and makes an ugly spot. Also, I'm not sure how you would cut the groove/slot into the bumper without messing up the chrome.

I would not do it. These bumpers are cheap.
I use my tow hooks in the front, and my hitch in the back.

I also have the rim hooks that bolt into the jack face, then hook onto the rim. It works ok to get the tire up and something under it, but not much else.

BB, if I could afford your bumpers I'd get a set. Let's say I did have the money, would you guys cut out a T for the hi-lift jack? Or how ARB has the square cut outs for the hi-lift?

Remember that Backwoods does give a nice discount to DTR members! And I'm sure they can help you out with your extra needs. When I am ready for new bumpers I am going the BB route!!
