bullydog tune

How would you properly download a new tune onto my bullydog? Ive heard scary larry and pedfile larry are best for this, I have an 03 w/o a built tranny. any others be better or more suitable?

both of those are big horse power files, and I would be wary of using them on the stock trans. Also, those files are hard to come by. They have to be gotten from someone that has them stored on there computer. I had that chip last year, and couldn't find anyone that had the files. Just sell it and get a Smarty S06. 100x's better tuner, minus not having the gauges. But it's worth buying the gauges to have this tuner.

I guess I should expound on my top answer of why the smarty is a more suitable tuner.

It has better power all around, safer egt's, and the programs are safe for stock equipment. Here's the link. Everyone on here I think agree's with me.
http://www.madselectronics.com/products.html. Just click on the ones for the 03-07 and read up on them.

I had the smarty jr. for a year along with an mp8 pressure box and loved it! I have an old mp8 for sale that is like new if you decide to go that route! If your never going mod up the truck a good bit, I would go with this one. Otherwise, go with the S06 I mentioned. It has more features and a lot more power, but you need a lot more supporting upgrades.

I will add to this.

Those files- scarry larry and ped larry are upper end tunes that will fry your tranny quickly. And quite possibly injectors too. And they are for the "triple dog" product-- not others. Although it's been so long now, I could be wrong on that. You didn't mention what bullydog product you have.

Those are also tunes that were better in the 05 and up trucks than the 03-04. This is by virtue of the ECM.

Without the built tranny and the limitations of the stock 03-04 turbo, I would recommend you run the mild bullydog tunes and not go over say 60hp over stock.

That said, you can do an internet search for the way to download and install the tunes into your bullydog.

Thank you guys for the info, as you can tell my knowledge on upgrades and performance is still in the beginner stage I guess but I just have the original bullydog tuner not the triple dog. all I have heard tho is smarty is the best all around tuner for these trucks.

For the 03-04 trucks, yes- smarty is the best all around tuner.

For a relatively stock truck, the smarty Jr is the way to go.
