Ok, Im freakin confused. I bought a 04.5 truck in August of 04. I was told it was a 04.5 and it was a 600, not a 555. So I bought a Bullydog power pup about a week after the pup came out. I could have sworn that the 04.5 pup was out before the 03-04... can anyone confirm that?

I traded my 04.5 for my 06 and went to sell my pup. Sold it to a buddy of mine with an 05. It doesnt work. He said he called bullydog and they said I bought the 03-04 pup not the 04.5 one. Maybe there is a crazy coincidence that I didnt get the 600 motor and I didnt buy the 04.5 programmer and a coincidence that I got both that I didnt want. Can you check the VIN and get the build date of a truck?

 

I think you can get the date by calling Dodge Costumer Service, can't remember the number, should be in your owners manual. If it was a 325-600 it would say so on the side of the engine. Mine does and I thought they all did.

 

I think we got the thing figured out...the programmer is correct but its an old version...hopefully the update solves the problem...or its $100 + shipping there and back for bullydog to fix their downloader.

 

I believe that the 04.5 power pub didnt come out until after the 03-04, because everyone was having trouble with the computer. BullyDog had to recall some of the products that they had, and that may have been one of them. I know that Edge had a hard time getting thier chip to work on the 600, and that they had to work out some bugs.

I believe that you had to buy the 600 as an option, and that some of the trucks come with the older model cummins like in the 03-04 model. I had to look on the side on the motor, on the plastic cover to confirm mine.

Well, I had the 600 like I thought, as well as the correct pup. Its programming was just so old that it needs an update to work on the 05 truck. My buddy is havin trouble with updating but hopefully it will work.
