BOMBED... Literally
I dont know personally if that is fair or not but it sure seems fair to me.
Think about it like this. A decent turbo and a set of injectors will cost you at least 2500, prolly more like 3k so to me that dont sound to bad for all the work. But who know, I may be way off and its highway robbery, I just dont know.
Well, you might as well put the mods back on and then some since you are keepin... right?

Maybe?? But, with a 4-5 day turnaround directly following a holiday weekend and considering how long i known him. Plus the local dodge/chevy/furd dealers send him between 20-30 trucks a year for similar repairs. He built my truck at 37k miles and it lasted until now putting up between 600-700hp with various different boxes. I am fine with it. And at this price i decided to keep my goodies!! The pump kit alone was over 3k and man i sure didnt want to part with the big a5k. But i was prepared to if needed. Maybe i will try stock for a while...........
Totally off subject here but how did the diy cp3 mod work out for you tbarbee1? I was sorta following that thread a while back. Do you think it was worth the time and sweat? A friend of mine wanted to try but i told him to wait a while and read some more reviews.
Yesir it was. Seat"o"thepants"o"meter is all I have to go buy but it seems to have a touch more low end and smoke a little more as well. I havent had any problems with mine a few have though? I really took my time and was extra careful to buff and polish everything with a dremmil tool. I would do it again tomorrow.
Cool, patience is a virtue when it comes to stuff like that. Something i have been very short of lately
. Do you think the dealer would be able to diagnose that mod? That is another reason i told him to wait.

I would be amazed if the dealer could pick up this mod. You dont have to remove any headless bolts etc... like the old torque plates. the only way to see is the gear housing has rivets and you drill them out and replace with stove bolts. But its not visible unless you remove the gearhousing. So unless the dealer is going to specifically work on the CP3 I dont think he would ever find this mod. BTW if you ever took out the plate on an old 12 valve and ground it this is easier. IMO Hope this helps you out.
Once the turbo lights up it stays pretty cool. The only difference is on take off but once i get going it levels out pretty quick. Now when i went to Lake Travis in austin there were a few hills that got my attention. If you towed in the hills I dont think you would want my setup. I dont really tow heavy, maybe 6-7k and rarely. I do mostly highway driving so its not been bad as a DD. City folk dont like me too much if i have to hurry..........
