Bilstein or leveling kit?

Is there any advantages to going with a leveling kit such as Kore versus jsut replacing the shocks alone besides the obvious 2" +/- of lift?

i was weighing the option of doing a leveling kit spacer and doing bilsteins on all 4 corners.. i went ahead and spent the extra couple hundred and went with a lorenz leveling kit. better springs than the stockers in the front, bilsteins at all 4 corners, and she handles great- def a better ride than stock. i did spacers on my jeep, with a truck like this i decided do a spring- not a spacer. your call, just personal preference.

I wasn't really considering spacers. I was simply talking about replacing all 4 shocks versus say a leveling kit with coils and minipacks in the rear.

ah, well in that case- replacing all 4 shocks would improve the ride by itself.. with coils and minipacks you are helping the shocks as well as the stability of your rig. plus depending what size you go- more room for bigger tires.. shocks alone, especially bilsteins can help the ride greatly.

I guess I am trying to weigh the cost versus the benefit of coils and minipacks. I also have timbrens so not sure what impact minipacks would really have on the rear.

The mini packs will help w/ the rear end kick or bouncing going over bumps. Giving you better rear control. You still keep your factory tow/haul rating/capabilities.

Putting the Bilstein 5100's on all four corners will help w/ the ride along w/ correct tire pressures. The leveling kit from KORE (which was mentioned) gives a better coil up front to eliminate riding on your bump stops everytime you go over larger bumps in the road and the nose of your truck dipping everytime you come to a stop or helps w/ body roll going around corners. Another words it gives you stability up front like the mini leafs in the rear w/ conjunction of the Bilstein 5100's.

the whole bumpstops is a factor... i remember when she had stock coils, id hit the b umpstops if i hit a speedbump hard enough. now with the lorenz coils upfront, thats non-existent. also the coils upfront have helped with the body roll issue associated with large vehicles

How does that play into having timbrens in the rear? Does it negate any effects of the minipacks? So worth the money and the 2" of ride height in the front??

The Timbrens may help w/ a heavier load for squat, but not for ride. Is it worth it? I think so. Stock suspension is subpar........

I know you'r talking about springs and minipaks but I've been VERY happy with just 2" spacers and Bilstein 5100's all around. Also have air rides in back at 10psi norm.

Night and day difference.

After noodling this over for a while now. I went with airbags in the back. 4 bilstein 5100s and new taller coils in the front to give the 2" that most leveling kits, PUCKs would give you. I thinks the pucks are kind of cheesy myself. A pair of springs compared to the pucks is about $60 or so more. Now we get a proper shock proper level and when I haul weight I pump the bags for level then to. I'm sooo happy.

I agree. Spacers level you out, but don't do anything for the spongy stock springs. I'm going to put the Kore kit in here in the next couple of weeks.

With the leveling coils up front is an adjustable tracbar necessary to center the axle and avoid deathwobble? I just put on the 5100's last week. The 5100's are the same for 0 or 2" lift.

I started with 5100's and timbrens.....then went to the lorenz setup....not even in the same game, much less ballpark.

the springs in the front make a large diff in handling and eliminate bottoming on speedbumps, drainage ditches,....

The rears (granted i got full leafs) are night and day better
