I see you have an 05. If you have a plastic intercooler you will have to upgrade with either choice.

I could be completely wrong, but I diddn't think an exhaust manifold was necessary with the relentless twins.

I thought it included ATS manifold... I'll be finding out later as I've emailed them with questions...

Will be involved with Relentless in the very near future.
I am just torn between SunCoast transmission upgrade or just one stop shop and let Relentless do it all.

I have been in the wind on this for a couple of months and about to jump, just adding new shocks and gadges this weekend.

Tough decision to void the last 20K in warrenty when I have been reading about the cooler jet issue and the oops lately around here.

No pain no gain

ok, well back to the single, a few questions:

1. Is it just a bolt-on or do I need any other mods with it? Or do I simply just swap the old turbo with the new or no changes?
2. I am NOT looking for somthing extreme, all I really want is to be in the high 12s or low 13s. Seems like I can do mid 13s with just the TST and stock trans and turbo.

The TT is right around $3k and plus some for labor, other parts.....etc. I mean, theres gotta be a single turbo out there that comes **** close to a TT setup. Which single turbo would be good for my needs. Hardly ever towing, just occasional street, highway and strip racing. Thats all. The HTB2?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not too confident in opinions that people post when I look at their sig and they appear to be running the stock turbo. How can you say twins are better or that they are not needed if you haven't tried. Just because someone else told you so doesn't mean it's right. I only post my opinions on performance parts if they are the ones that I have experience with.
I too am starting to look at turbos and am trying to decide what would best meet my needs. It makes it a lot harder to decide when people are giving input that don't have first hand experience.

Now that my rant is over, I have a couple questions.

#1 Has anyone tried the Edge BB turbo?
#2 AK Ram has tried 5 different singles and his vote is for twins, yet Luken has a single on his and runs just as fast. AK Ram - what turbos did you try and what didn't you like about them.
#3 Who else has tried both and tows at least 9,000lbs with both set ups
#4 Can the stock turbo be used in a twin set up, and if so, will you still get a reduction in egts?
#5 If I do a turbo (it is mostly to reduce egts while towing because I just made a trip of the rockies and couldn't run the hot juice higher than level 2) can I get away with adding a little more fuel (like mp8 or power pup) and still keep the egts down, or will they go right back up like they are now?

Dont knock ebay. There are alot of good people that sell and buy on there.
Scam artists are everywhere not just on ebay.

I like my single turbo and my truck is no slouch on horsepower.

I voted twins because when enough people tell you their honest results one way or the other, you tend to make some educated opinions. Sure, a good single will make huge power, but at what cost? Sitting in an intersection while blacking out the two lanes of traffic while waiting for it to spool? I want driveability and responsiveness, and if I can't have it, then I don't care if I make 1000hp at 3500rpms. JMHO...

I have twins and I can still black out an intersection at will....Doesn't matter what you have twins or singles....If you are a diligent driver you can make any setup rock...If you are stupid the best setup won't do...I have the best super single (k31 hybrid .90 A/R) and close to the best twins(super B/S400 ext.Tial) ....Monday will tell....I'm having the time of my life and I can run with the best or soft pedal and get 20mpg. Gotta love diesel. Oh yeah the super single I got off the internet for 360 plus a gift from II. ks

Please elaborate on that k31 hybrid. Is it big/small, bolt on/fab up, why do you say it's the best, and why did you go to the twins/

My singles were, the stock turbo of course, two Piers Bomber Lites, one Piers G1 experimental, and one TAD B1. Consider that the Bomber Lites were way back in 03 before most of you guys owned 3rd Gens yet. We were still trying new things and learning and probably had no business trying those concoctions anyway. We promptly blew those up. I popped the B1 also within about 2,500 miles of use. That was my last single. The G1 was tuff and never blew up. It is still in use on a DTR member's truck, making him the proud owner of one of only three ever made. Just wasn't big enough.

One setup is definitely better overall than the other, but may not be better for your needs at the time.

Benefits of twins (not all inclusive):
Fast spool. Much faster than any single that can cool 600hp.
Dual stage compression. The primary provides the air after spool. The secondary compresses that air again, getting much more air into a given area. Air density goes way up with a set of twins....meaning you get a lot more of it.

Cons with twins:
The cost.
You have to listen to subjective SPS66 owners say "well my 66 spools like stock".......riiiiiight.
