There alot of upgrades that can effect different aspects of towing. If I had one thing to do I would put a tranny in. It gives you piece off mind and will be better overall situaton. 2nd I put an exshaust brake in and airbags. These upgrades are very pratical now as far as haulin *** programmer, turbo, water meth, fuel pump, injectors these upgrades will give you the ability really move.

This is a very good idea, you will eliminate 200 degrees from your egt's. Not sure how much hp maybe 20. Keep in mind heat is the number one thing you want to eliminate.

Get Gauges. You have no idea what's going on. Even with stock power it's a good idea. Gauges also help troubleshooting.

Here's my 06'.

Gains

here are the gains over stock with Silverline Turbo back (no cat) Volant air box Cool twist Intercooler took 3 pulls to get this 11 H.P. 22ftlbs tq over the bone stock truck when I got it I dynoed it, hows that for almost 2Gs? it did lower the egts down quite abit and I knew that going into it, on the 05 you need a good intercooler because they have the junk tanks on them. But now when I turned the Edge on the power it made was more then what they claim. I do owe Big Thanks To John and Scott at Floor it Diesel for the work they did on my Trans and CP3 pump. John you are the man

I have a Quadzilla ZXT. I love it. no noticeable difference in MPG . 65hp is what it's advertised for. it's comparable to bully dog set at 90.

get some gauges , either straight pipe it or get a flow thru muffler, and put a mild box on it not over 75 hp and it will tow fine and still get good mileage with out having to spend a fortune, unless you got the bucks. my .02

With the 3 performance mods in my sig I have picked up 2 mpg both empty and while towing our 5th wheel. My EGT's are down about 150* from stock even with the XZT.

You might look into a downloader that way if you ever need to take the program off easy you can. They are adjustable on the fly and like others were saying i would go with gauges of some sort. Keeping an eye on EGT's, transmission temp, induction temp, and transmission slippage is a good thing. Not to mention adding a couple miles per gallon never hurt anyone.
